Mynydd Cilan

The Llŷn Peninsula is without doubt one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. Thousands of holiday makers visit each year to enjoy its stunning scenery, wildlife, attractions and beaches.

We have visited the Llŷn on many occasions and walked countless miles to discover interesting places and views that take your breath away. The idea behind this website is to share some of the best circular walks that we have discovered. As we have aged we have come to appreciate walks that are not too long or strenuous. Each walk here is less than 5 miles and will take a moderately fit person less than 2 hours to complete. Many of the walks pass somewhere to pause for refreshment – an important consideration for a coffee addict!

We hope you enjoy these walks as much as we did and they help you discover some amazing scenery and uncover some hidden gems of the Llŷn Peninsula.

Please take care

You undertake these walks at your own risk. Some walks pass through farmland, others near cliffs, and one through a golf course. Please follow the Countryside Code (below).

The weather on the Llŷn can be very localised and change quickly. It is always worth checking the forecast and take appropriate clothing. We recommend that you wear walking boots as some of the paths are uneven and can be muddy all year round.

Although we have tried to provide detailed instructions and a map, it is still advisable to take an OS Explorer 1:25,000 scale map with you as a back-up. There are also several map apps that will help guide you. We use the free version of MAPS.ME as it provides maps and paths that can be downloaded to your phone so you are not reliant on a phone signal.
